The Safety, Education and Enforcement subcommittee of the D.C. Bicycle Advisory Council focuses on implementation of measures necessary for wider participation in safe bicycling in the District of Columbia.
Recent committee agendas have focused on the following:
1. Securing enhanced enforcement of laws which affect bicycle safety,
2. Better response of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) to bicycle crashes and incidents,
3. Better MPD reporting of those unfortunate events, and
4. Use of bicycle traffic and culture to improve livability and pedestrian and motor vehicle safety in residential neighborhoods.
